Juniper Flats Campground & RV Park

Amenities

Everything you need, nothing you don't

Eight things that make the Flats comfortable — and a few deliberate absences, like overhead lights and strong cell service.

The full list

Eight amenities, zero coin slots

Everything below is included with your site unless it says otherwise. If something’s not right, tell the office — a Marek is there 8 am – 8 pm.

Shower house

Hot showers and flush toilets between the Sage Loop and the river, open 6 am – 10 pm. The Marek family cleans it twice a day themselves — guests mention it in reviews more than the river. Bring flip-flops if you must, but you won’t need them.

Camp store

Rosa has run the counter since 2004: coffee and fresh pastries every morning, plus ice, firewood, propane, campfire kits and the marshmallows you forgot. Open 8 am – 8 pm, the same hours as the office — it’s the same porch.

Dump station & potable fill

Free for registered guests at the entrance loop — a fresh-water fill and two wash-down hoses, no reservation needed. Top off on your way in, dump on your way out, and skip the line at the highway stations.

River access & swim hole

A gravel path from every loop drops you at the basalt swim hole on the Deschutes — wading depth for kids early in the season, deep enough to float by August. One rule, no exceptions: no glass at the river.

Firewood delivered

Oregon law bans bringing in outside firewood (it moves invasive pests), so leave the truckbed stash at home. Order a locally cut bundle at the store by 4 pm and it’s stacked at your fire ring before dusk. Fires only in the provided rings, and only when Deschutes County burn rules allow.

Wi-Fi at the store & pavilion

Strong enough for a check-in call, a weather lookup or a kid’s movie on a rainy afternoon. Cell service is thin out on the River Loop — most guests decide that’s a feature, not a bug.

Dogs welcome

Two dogs per site on a 6-foot leash, with waste stations along all four loops. The one firm ask: never leave a dog tied at an empty site — bring them to the river, they’ll thank you.

Dark-sky nights

No overhead lighting on Meadow Walk or the River Loop, and quiet hours from 10 pm mean no generator hum under the stars. In August, watch the Perseids from your own camp chair — no telescope required.
